PlayLabs ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our lesson planning application for Physical and Health Education teachers.
By using PlayLabs, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our service.

Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. This information is necessary to provide our services, authenticate your identity, and communicate with you about your account.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you use PlayLabs, including:
- Lesson plans created and activities added
- Features accessed and time spent in the application
- Search queries and filter selections
- Device type, browser type, and operating system
- IP address and approximate geographic location
Content You Create
We store the content you create within PlayLabs, including lesson plans, custom activities, curriculum notes, and any other user-generated content. This data is stored securely and used to provide our services.

Analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog to understand how users interact with PlayLabs. PostHog collects anonymized usage data including page views, feature usage, and session duration. You can opt out of analytics tracking in your browser settings.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate PlayLabs:
Supabase

OpenAI
Powers our AI lesson generation and content moderation features. When you use AI features, your prompts and generated content may be processed by OpenAI. We do not share personally identifiable information with OpenAI. View OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Stripe
Handles subscription payments. When you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment information. We do not store your full credit card number. View Stripe's Privacy Policy.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Process your subscription and payments
- Personalize your experience and provide recommendations
- Communicate with you about updates, features, and support

Data Retention

- Payment records: Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance

Children's Privacy
PlayLabs is designed for use by teachers and educators, not directly by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@playlabs.ca. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information.
Your Rights

- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information

International Data Transfers
PlayLabs is operated from Canada. Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and Canada, where our third-party service providers maintain servers.
When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Regular security assessments and updates
- Access controls and authentication requirements
- Secure hosting on Cloudflare and Supabase infrastructure
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify you by email if you have an account with us (for significant changes)
- Display a notice within the application
